Open the fuselage and three little pull-back cars roll out — that is the whole hook of this set, and it works. The airplane itself doubles as a carry case and a launch ramp, which means the play loop (load, fly, launch, race, reload) keeps a four-year-old occupied for a good stretch.

Each mini car has a friction-drive motor — pull it back two or three times, let go and it shoots forward a couple of meters. No batteries anywhere in the set, so nothing to charge before a trip.
